Day 6: Ngorongoro’s Natural Drama
After an early breakfast, we’ll descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for an unforgettable game drive. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is one of the world’s most spectacular wildlife destinations, where the dense concentration of animals creates dramatic scenes throughout the day in its unique enclosed ecosystem of grasslands, forests, swamps, and lakes. The crater is home to Africa’s Big Five and much more. You’ll see lions hunting in open grasslands, leopards resting in trees along the forested walls, and if you’re lucky, cheetahs on the plains. Large herds of elephants, buffalo, zebra, and wildebeest roam freely, while the endangered black rhino can often be spotted—making this one of the best places in East Africa to see them. Hippos gather at the Hippo Pool, hyenas prowl the plains, and over 500 bird species fill the skies, including flamingos on the crater lake. In the evening, you’ll ascend to your camp / lodge for a well-deserved rest.
Day 7: Lake Manyara’s Intimate Beauty
The final safari day unfolds in beautiful Lake Manyara National Park, where emerald forests meet sparkling soda lakes. Stroll hand-in-hand along private walking trails with your guide, watching for the park’s famous tree-climbing lions and vibrant birdlife. Lake Manyara is one of Tanzania’s most diverse and compact wildlife areas, offering unforgettable encounters with large elephant herds, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffalo, and playful troops of baboons and monkeys. Depending on water levels, you may see thousands of pink flamingos lining the lakeshore alongside pelicans, storks, and over 400 bird species. Don’t miss the hippo pools with excellent viewing from the Hippo Viewing Platform, the lush groundwater forest fed by underground springs, and the stunning turquoise hot springs (Maji Moto) perfect for photos and short walks. In the evening, return to your camp / lodge where you will enjoy your dinner.
