Day 1: Arrival in Arusha – Start of Your Tanzania Migration Safari

Your 5-day Tanzania migration safari from Arusha begins when you arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport. A Leith Safaris representative will welcome you and transfer you to your hotel in Arusha.

After check-in, you will meet your safari guide for a short briefing about the safari route, wildlife expectations, accommodation and the coming days. You can relax at the hotel, prepare your camera and get ready for your Serengeti migration adventure.

Day 2: Arusha to Serengeti National Park

After an early breakfast, you will leave Arusha and begin your journey to Serengeti National Park, one of Tanzania’s most famous safari destinations. The route takes you through beautiful Northern Tanzania landscapes and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, with chances to see local villages, open plains and wildlife along the way.

On arrival in the Serengeti, you will enjoy your first game drive in one of the best wildlife areas in Africa. Depending on the season and movement of the herds, your guide will search for wildebeest, zebras, gazelles, lions, cheetahs and other wildlife connected to the migration. Later, you will continue to your camp / lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Full-Day Serengeti Migration Safari

Today is dedicated to a full-day Serengeti migration safari. After breakfast, you will head out with your private guide to explore the best available wildlife areas based on the movement of the herds.

During migration season, Serengeti offers unforgettable scenes of wildebeest, zebras and gazelles moving across the plains in search of fresh grazing. Predators such as lions, cheetahs, leopards and hyenas may also be seen following the herds. You will enjoy a picnic lunch in the park and continue with afternoon game drives before returning to your camp / lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Conservation Area

After breakfast, you will enjoy a final morning game drive in Serengeti National Park as you continue searching for wildlife and migration activity. This is another opportunity to see big cats, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes and other animals before leaving the park.

Later, you will drive toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, passing scenic landscapes and Maasai communities along the way. Ngorongoro offers a different safari atmosphere from Serengeti, with beautiful highlands, crater views and rich wildlife history. Dinner and overnight stay will be at a lodge / camp near the crater rim.

Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater Safari and Return to Arusha

After an early breakfast, you will descend into Ngorongoro Crater for a guided game drive. The crater is one of Tanzania’s most famous wildlife areas and is home to lions, elephants, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeest, gazelles and many other animals.

You will enjoy a picnic lunch inside or near the crater area while taking in the beautiful scenery. After the game drive, you will return to Arusha. Depending on your flight schedule, you may be transferred to your hotel or Kilimanjaro International Airport for departure, ending your 5-day Tanzania migration safari from Arusha with unforgettable memories.
